Last Friday my friend Alö told me about this nice opportunity at Koding.com where they were giving away free VM machines with root access to help developers test their programs.

After browsing the website for a little bit I joined, and I must admit that I like it.

While I haven’t been exhaustively testing it, I have been playing around with it a little and it is a very nice service, moreover considering it is free.

The specs of the machine are not tremendous, but they are enough for testing: Ubuntu Linux, 2GB RAM and 3GB of HD.

I was surprised today when I saw that they hadn’t run out of GB to give away.
